We at PhD have chosen our affiliate academic institutions with great care, balancing your need for ease of completion with academic requirements and tuition cost. All our universities are recognized by their national Departments of Education and are globally accredited by UNESCO, but vary widely in cost and duration.
We have divided our university affiliates into four regional groupings, classified in terms of difficulty from hardest to easiest. For further research, the universities have been listed under each grouping.
Distance Learning (MBA, PhD, DBA) North America
The U.S. is an important academic center. Master’s programs usually require 12 courses and Doctorates 10 courses (with heavy emphasis on statistics and research methodology) in addition to a formal dissertation. Tuition costs at these American universities are significantly higher than those of most academic institutions worldwide at about $15,000-20,000 per annum. These programs generally take from two to four years to complete.
Carnegie Mellon University, North Central University, TUI University are three of the schools with whom we are affiliated.
Distance Learning (MBA, PhD, DBA) United Kingdom
The UK universities are very attractive since they assume knowledge of research skills and enable the candidate to begin writing their theses directly. Most programs are, nevertheless, of three year duration as the writing of the research is done according to very elaborate and time-consuming criteria.
Tuition costs are similar to those in North America – that is, they are quite high. In addition, UK universities generally require that the student spend at least one week of every academic year on campus.
Bournemouth University, Swansea University, Leicester University, Bolton University are four of the schools with whom we are affiliated.
Distance Learning (MBA, PhD, DBA) Eastern Europe
Master’s or Doctoral studies from a Ukrainian university with a US Extension
The International University of Business and Law (IUBL) is based in the Ukraine with branches in the US and the U.K., allowing it to issue its degrees from all three locations. Over 2000 students attend classes on-site at Kherson and scores of others are currently taking graduate degrees via distance learning. It is principally known for its business faculty although some doctorates have been allowed in fields as far-ranging as psychology and education.
IUBL has its main campus in Kherson with degree-granting extensions in both the U.S. and the U.K.
Doctoral Studies in Bulgaria
The Bulgarian universities were the first ones to be represented by PhD Institute ABROAD. They are older universities with established reputations. One of these schools is private and the other two are public. The large number of faculty at these universities ensures that the widest number of research subjects can be addressed.
As in the rest of Europe, the Bulgarian universities once a research proposal is accepted, the candidate is free to immediately proceed to begin writing the thesis or dissertation. The presentation of the research proposal must be done in person as the relationship between student and professor is expected to be personal. The process of writing the research can be done via distance learning but the candidate must return to campus in order to defend the final work. We have registered scores of candidates who have since graduated and continued on as educators and university faculty members.
Our affiliates in Bulgaria include Varna Free University, New Bulgarian University, and Sofia University - the latter being most prestigious.
Doctoral Studies in Slovakia
Constantine the Philosopher University has traditionally excelled in the area of Education and that is still its most illustrious faculty, although the school has a full array of academic programs and faculties. As in the Bulgarian universities, Constantine accepts the candidate’s research proposal and the candidate then immediately proceeds to begin writing the thesis or dissertation. The presentation of the research proposal must be done in person as above. The process of writing the research can be done via distance learning but the candidate must return to the campus in order to defend the final work. We have registered many candidates who have successfully gone on to careers in Education.
Our affiliate is Constantine the Philosopher University which specializes in Education and Psychology graduate study.
Doctoral Studies in Poland
Poland is considered one of Europe’s strongest academic centers. The universities of Poland are known for their academic papers and their research. We have made special efforts to locate universities that would enable a candidate to prepare research without a stricture of time limits. In the end we found three universities that not only offer that freedom but also provide abundant tutoring on the part of faculty members to whom candidates are assigned.
They are Academy of Humanities and Economics (Lodz), University of Technology and Humanities (Radom), Pultusk Academy of the Humanities.
Doctoral Studies in the Americas
The universities of Mexico and Central America have been strongly influenced by the U.S. and many faculty members are American born or American educated. They meld some of the characteristics of US schools and others of Europe.
These schools are the only ones that do not require that the student actually defend their research on-campus. Rather they depend on various local contacts to serve as examiners in order to spare the student from having to travel. Another advantage of these universities is that they do not have time limitations once their research topic has been approved. In some cases, these universities will approve a previously written work, such as a book. in lieu of doing original research.
Tuition and general academic requirements are more liberal than at their U.S. counterparts. Choose among Azteca University, Central University of Nicaragua, and the Entrepreneurial University of Costa Rica.
